Dr. Laurie Powell
DOM (NM), L.Ac., M.A.O.M., Dipl. O.M.
Laurie Powell graduated with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin in 2005. This program included extensive studies in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and other forms of Oriental Medicine. She also holds a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of North Texas. She went on to obtain additional training and licensee as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico.
Laurie is an NAET Instructor practicing since 2008 who specializes in children and adult allergies, autoimmune disorders, gut related health disorders and mental/emotional health concerns. She is currently training for certification in Functional Medicine. Laurie is currently licensed to practice in Texas, New Mexico and Tennessee.
Prior to working as a DOM, Laurie modeled professionally for 12 years. Moving to SE Asia under a modeling contract at age 17 where she lived in Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Her interest in Chinese medicine further developed while living overseas. She returned to the US to study Chinese Medicine in 2000.
